We are looking to recruit a member of staff on a permanent basis to work on our butchery and deli counter. The candidates we appoint should be enthusiastic, flexible and able to work alone or as part of a team. They must be able to confidently communicate with our customers in a friendly manner.

Full training will be provided.

Main Tasks

  • Preparing food for both the butchery and deli counters.
  • Assisting with cutting, slicing, and packaging meat and deli products.
  • Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene at all times.
  • Stock rotation, replenishment, and merchandising.
  • Adhering to all food safety and health & safety regulations.
  • Operating scales, slicers, and other counter equipment.
  • Monitoring product quality and freshness.
  • Providing excellent customer service and product advice.
  • Supporting the team with general cleaning and closing down procedures.

Gift Area Sales Assistant

Permanent contract – 15.25 hours per week (averaged over a 2 week rota)

Working Pattern

  • Week 1: Monday (8.45am to 5pm), Wednesday (9am to 3pm) and Sunday (10:45am to 5pm).
  • Week 2: Monday (10am to 4pm) and Tuesday (10am to 4pm).
  • There is also the opportunity to work additional hours by covering shifts when required.
  • Start Date: To start as soon as possible.

We are looking for a friendly, reliable individual to join our Gift Team on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will deliver excellent customer service and be confident working both independently and as part of a team.

This role includes a seasonal element. During peak gardening periods, when the Gift Department is quieter, you will be required to support the Gardening Sundries Department on certain days. Flexibility and a willingness to assist across departments are therefore essential.
Previous retail experience is preferred but not essential, as full training will be provided.

  • Stock replenishment and merchandising
  • Handling deliveries and customer enquiries
  • Operating the main till
  • Supporting other departments when required as part of the wider team
