Ferns can give exiting contrasts in foliage, form and colour. They are suitable for any moist soil, in sun or part shade. Many ferns thrive in the lower light levels of a woodland area.
Ornamental grasses can play a part in most gardens. They can be used to soften borders or can be planted as a main focus. There are grasses for shady as well as sunny situations and for dry or damp soil. Some perform well in containers.
