September 2018 News From The Farm

We have all varieties of cabbage, cauliflowers and broccoli available in the Farm Shop at the moment and there should be a consistent supply available. There may be a short gap on some varieties as we wait for them to be ready to harvest.

Our Maize Maze has been a great success again this Summer. It will be open again with a spooky theme from the 20th October until 31st October.

We open up the PYO pumpkin field on the same date both the maze and pumpkin fields will be open everyday 10am until 4pm. (Subject to weather conditions). Our Pumpkins are growing nicely and ripening well, there may be some available in the Farm Shop a little earlier this year.

The main potato harvesting will start this month, although we have already started to lift some of the Marfona. Onions will be lifted this month to dry in the store ready for sale at the end of month.

We will soon be selling our onions and potatoes by the sack, this is an excellent way of saving money by buying in bulk.

Bellis’ sprouts are heading to maturity and we should have some ready by late October early November.

Over the next couple of months the farm team will be focusing on harvesting and grading the crops that are ready. A busy time for them!
