October 2018 News From The Farm

Our potatoes and onions are now up and safely in store. Due to the very hot weather during the summer the crops have suffered, fingers crossed they will keep us going through the winter! We are starting to pack and grade potatoes and onions in sacks which are now available for bulk purchase in the Farm Shop. We hope to be lifting the carrots for selling in sacks very soon.

Pumpkins are already being harvested and everything is being prepared on the fields for the opening of our PYO Pumpkins, Spooky Maize Maze and Sharland’s Family Fun Fair (20/10/18).

Autumn cultivation’s are well underway for planting Winter Corn and the forage Maize crops are now being harvested. Ground is starting to be prepared for the planting of our new strawberry plants. We hope to plant them at the end of this month.

Autumn jobs around the farm include hedge trimming and general land maintenance as we try and get organised and ready for the Winter months. Let’s hope we have a better one than last year!
