News From The Farm June 2021

The first of our strawberries should be ready early this month and will be available to buy from the Farm Shop. They are a little late in ripening this year due to all the rain and cold weather we had last month. As soon as we are ready to open Pick Your Own we will let you know on our website and Facebook page.

The gooseberry crop looks promising and should be ready mid June. Raspberries will be a little later, probably early July. The asparagus and rhubarb will finish soon. There will then be quite a gap before the Summer crops are ready. Potatoes, onions and carrots are growing well but they are a long way of being ready.

Pumpkin plants have all grown well undercover and have just been planted out ready for PYO Pumpkins in October.

The Maize Maze has not been planted yet as the ground has been too wet to get the machinery on so we are about 3 or 4 weeks behind. It is a fast growing variety but it may not be quite ready for our usual late summer opening.
