June 2019 News From The Farm

The first of our strawberries should be ready early this month and will be available to buy from the Farm Shop. Due to all the lovely sunshine in April and May we may be opening the Pick Your Own slightly earlier this year. It will be announced on our website and Facebook page. The gooseberry crop looks promising and should be ready mid June. Raspberries will be a little later, probably early July.

The asparagus and rhubarb will finish soon. Cauliflowers finished a little earlier than normal this time. There will then be quite a gap before the Summer crops are ready. Potatoes, onions and carrots are growing well but they are a long way off being ready.

Pumpkin plants have grown well undercover and have just been planted out now ready for October harvest.

With the very warm weather recently our irrigation system has already been put to good use to keep all our crops watered.

The maize maze has been planted and we hope to open towards the end of July.
