Community review of 2025
As an independent, family-run business, giving back to our local community is incredibly important to us. Here’s a snapshot of how we supported local people and causes throughout 2025.
Nightingale House Hospice
In 2007, Joan Bellis made the decision to focus our charity fundraising efforts on Nightingale House Hospice in Wrexham. Since then, we have worked closely with this wonderful charity and are delighted to say that we have raised a total of £200,379.24 since the partnership began.
Our total for 2025 alone was £13,120.30, an incredible achievement made possible through events such as the Easter Chick Hunt, our Festive Weekend, Santa’s Grotto, and Breakfast with Santa.
The funds we raise help Nightingale House Hospice continue to provide vital specialist palliative care for patients and their families. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to all our staff and customers for their ongoing generosity and support.

Bellis’ Coffee Club
Bellis’ Coffee Club continues to be well attended, with new members always welcome. It offers a relaxed opportunity to meet regularly, enjoy a coffee and catch up with others. No booking is required and the club meets every Thursday from 9.30am to 10.30am in the Strawberry Fields Restaurant.
The Country Trust
The Country Trust is a small, dynamic national education charity dedicated to bringing the working countryside to life for children who are least able to access it. Working with local volunteer host farms, the charity helps disadvantaged children learn about food, farming and the countryside, sharing knowledge, igniting curiosity, and broadening horizons.
We have been proud to work in partnership with The Country Trust for several years and were pleased to host visits for local school groups once again this year.

Our local Primary Schools of Holt and Farndon
We enjoy working closely with both of our local schools and are pleased to support their fundraising activities throughout the year. This year, we donated raffle prizes, seeds, plants and compost to help with their lessons and fundraising activities.
Our Carrier Bag proceeds
In Wales, the proceeds from the sale of single-use carrier bags are donated to local and environmental causes, benefiting both communities and the environment. In August 2025, we donated the proceeds from our carrier bag charge to Holt Gardeners (£300) and to Holt Knit and Natter (£80) for wool to support their Holt in Bloom knitted decorations.
The Cheshire Candles Charity Car Run
The Cheshire Candles Charity Run is an annual classic car fundraising event organised by the West Cheshire branch of the MG Owners’ Club. In May 2025, they started their event from here and it was a fabulous sight watching the MG cars leave our event paddock.
Local Groups
Many local groups and charities joined us in-store to raise awareness about their work. In 2025, we were pleased to welcome: MNDA Cheshire & Wrexham, RSPB, Marie Curie, Nightingale House Lottery, Holt Community Information, Bowel Cancer Awareness, Teenage Cancer Trust and WWF.
We look forward to welcoming many of these wonderful charities back in 2026. If you would like to raise awareness about your group or charity with us, please get in touch.
We look forward to an exciting and active 2026 within our community!
