October 2017 News from the farm

Our potatoes and onions are a little slow to come through due to the recent wet weather. Once they are dried and safely in store they will hopefully keep us going through the Winter. We are starting to pack and grade potatoes, carrots and onions in sacks which will be available for bulk purchase in the Farm Shop.

Pumpkins are already being harvested and everything is being prepared on the fields for the opening of our PYO Pumpkins and Spooky Maize Maze on the 21 October.

Autumn cultivation’s are well underway for planting Winter corn and the forage maize crops will be harvested in the next few weeks.

Autumn jobs around the farm include hedge trimming and general land maintenance as we try and get organised and ready for the Winter months. Let’s hope we have another mild one!
