March 2017 News From The Farm

Purple Sprouting BroccoliThe gooseberry planting has been delayed slightly because of the wet weather. Fortunately the majority of the spring planting is not due for another few weeks yet.

The pruning and tying in of all the bush fruit is now finished, there will soon be signs of new growth.

Purple sprouting broccoli is just starting and available in the Farm Shop. Cauliflowers should be ready soon too.

Our asparagus is coming on nicely and will hopefully be ready soon. Just need the soil temperature to be a little warmer.

We are adding an extension to the existing poly tunnels for the table top strawberries which will allow us to try new varieties to extend the growing season.

Our Farm staff have been busy helping out with clearing the area for the extension on the covered plant area in the Garden Centre. Many hands make light work!

Wildlife and Farm staff are all looking forward to some warm, dry and sunny weather.
