June 2017 News From The Farm

The first of our Strawberries will be ready early this month and will be available to buy from the Farm Shop. Due to all the sunshine in May we hope that the Pick Your Own will open earlier this year, it will be announced on our website and Facebook page as soon as it is. Along with the Strawberries, the Gooseberry crop looks promising and should be ready mid June. Raspberries will be a little later, probably early July.

There will be quite a gap now before the Summer crops are ready. The Winter cauliflowers have only just finished but our potatoes, onions and carrots are growing well, there is a long way to go until they are ready though.

Pumpkin plants have grown well undercover and have been planted out now ready for October harvest.

With the very warm weather and little rain in May our irrigation system has been put to good use to keep all our crops watered.

The maize maze has been planted and we hope to open towards the end of July. We have also planted some sunflowers around the perimeter of the maize maze, so in August when they start to flower it will look spectacular.
