December Farm News

Sprouts are a plenty, they will be perfect to accompany your Christmas dinner. They have been in the farm shop now for a few weeks and are a particularly tasty variety.

The unseasonably warm weather is advancing the winter crops which make them ready earlier than normal; this could lead to slight problems with supply later on in the season.

We have just started picking the second sowing of carrots. These are available in large sacks in the Farm Shop subject to availability.

The majority of the farm work in December is getting the vegetables ready for sale in the farm shop, this includes grading the potatoes ready for the Christmas rush.

Ploughing will commence as soon as time will allow.

Goldfinches and chaffinches are feeding from the plentiful weed seeds.

Our holly is looking good and will soon be ready in the shop.
